ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the South, which is often apparent after talking with me! After completing my undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Biology from Mercer University, I moved north to pursue a degree as a Physician Assistant from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I spent the first several years of my career in family practice medicine, where I began to see the gaps in mental health services. At this time, I directed my career into the mental health field because I felt passionate about how influential and healing mental health treatment can be for overall wellness.

Desiring to integrate the benefits of counseling in addition to medications, I received a Master’s degree as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Understanding the importance of the mind/body connection, I now felt in a unique position to truly provide holistic care to patients in a psychiatric setting. Being both a therapist and Physician Assistant is a relatively unique combination, and allows me to bring a unique insight and therapeutic element to every patient I see. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and encourage and teach the mental health benefits of improved and balanced physical health.
